so i am a lil self concious about speaking spanish. mostly because i have family members who are from peru or grew up speaking it. i how ever didn’t. so with a little help from my family, and school and friends i know enough to get by. recently at the dental office where i work, my boss found out i speak some spanish, well alot more then i let on and now i am the one that deals with the spanish patients that are new. i am the interperator for both of them. like i said, it isnt perfect but i can get by, and i pretty much understand everything, remembering what or how to say it is somthing else.

anyways, i was asked the other day and have heard it before, “where did you learn spanish? school?” i tell them i learned a little from everywhere. is it a bad thing? is it really obvious if someone has learned it from school? i can tell sometimes dilect (sp?) or certains words that other countries use for certain things, i do try to steer clear of that. sounds mean but i would rather sound more like a peruvian than a mexican because that is where my family is from. but… i practice mostly with people from el salvador and mexico.
